Helping children, teens, and young adults build confidence through courage

Most therapy jumps straight to coping skills. I start by helping children, teens, and young adults understand what their body is doing under stress, because skills only stick when the nervous system feels safe first.

Courage looks different at every age

Whether your child is struggling to put it into words, your teen has stopped trying to, or you're a young adult who's finally decided enough is enough, there's a place for you here.

AGES 6 — 12

Your child doesn't have words for what they're feeling, but their behavior is telling you something. Therapy gives them a safe place to make sense of big emotions, build real confidence, and learn that hard things don't have to stay hard forever.

AGES 13 — 17

The teen years can feel overwhelming. Whether they're navigating anxiety, self-confidence, friendships, identity development, or healing from trauma and other difficult experiences, therapy offers a space to be heard, understood, and supported through all of it.

YOUNG ADULT 18 +

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what's next? Therapy can help you navigate anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and the pressures of young adulthood with greater confidence.

I believe healing begins when people feel seen, understood, and safe enough to be themselves.

Hi, I’m Kayla!

For as long as I can remember, I've felt called to work with children, adolescents, and young adults. What draws me most to this work is helping young people find their voice, especially when they feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of who they are.

I created Courage Over Comfort to be a place where healing feels possible, and where taking a brave step forward is always met with support.

You’ve probably tried to make sense of it…

The anxiety. The overwhelm. The withdrawal. The emotional outbursts. The feeling of being stuck, lost, or not quite like yourself anymore. Often, these aren't signs that something is wrong, they're signs that something deeper needs attention.

Real change happens when people feel safe enough to face what's hard and supported enough to try something different. By understanding what's happening beneath the surface, we can move beyond simply managing symptoms and begin building lasting confidence, resilience, and self-understanding.

Getting started is easier than you think and it begins with a single conversation.

Whether you're reaching out for your child, your teen, or yourself, the first step in the process is simply a conversation. Here's what happens next.
